The Files app is the central place for your data: personal folders, shared family folders and all drives you have attached.

Basic tasks

  1. 1Open Files from the launcher — on the left you see your personal folders (Downloads, Documents, Photos, Videos).
  2. 2Upload: click Upload or drag files into the folder with drag & drop.
  3. 3Move/copy: context menu → Move to … or drag & drop with the mouse.
  4. 4Share: context menu → Share — as a family share or as an external link with a time limit.
  5. 5Files moved to the trash can be restored via View → Trash.

System-wide integration

The universal file picker works system-wide: when an app says “open file”, you get the same interface. File types have default apps that you can change in Settings → System → Default apps.
